ASBA Webinar Series: Aspiring Governing Board Members

ASBA is sponsoring a series of webinars for aspiring governing board members. There will be three webinars and the first one is on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00-7:00 pm. Serving on your local school board is a critically important leadership role in our communities. But is it something you want to do? During this webinar, we will look at what the job entails, the legal basis for school boards, the qualifications to serve and the basics of board service.

You collected signatures and are on the ballot. What do you do next? We will discuss campaigning 101 during this session including fundraising, messaging, campaign collateral and more. You won't want to miss this one!

I Was Elected!... Now What?

Congratulations! You were elected to serve on your local school board. In this session, we will discuss what you should focus on in the eight short weeks until you take office. There is plenty you can do to get "up-to-speed" and ready to go on January 1, 2025!   

You will soon receive ASBA's "Interested in Board Service" booklet in the mail. We hope this resource will be helpful to prospective board members as they navigate the election process, from signature gathering to what it means to serve on a school board.
